Choose the city connection for your address
Check DMK on the ticket before setting off: Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi are separate airports. For arrival, choose the connection by your final address and how much luggage you are carrying.
| Option | Destination or pickup | Published price |
|---|---|---|
| Red Line train | Don Mueang station towards Krung Thep Aphiwat | Check the station fare for your ticket category |
| A1 bus | Mo Chit corridor / Mo Chit 2 | 30 THB per person |
| A2 bus | Victory Monument | 30 THB per person |
| A3 bus | Lumpini Park | 50 THB per person |
| A4 bus | Sanam Luang / Old City corridor | 50 THB per person |
| Regular airport taxi | T1 Gate 8 or T2 next to Gate 15 | Meter plus 50 THB airport surcharge; tolls extra |
These are AOT's published bus fares and taxi surcharge for October 2026. A bus fare is per passenger; the taxi meter is for the vehicle. Include the transfer from the stop to your accommodation when comparing them.

Red Line towards Krung Thep Aphiwat
Follow the Red Line signs to Don Mueang station, rather than assuming an airport exit is the railway entrance. SRTET's route connects the station with Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, the interchange for intercity trains and the MRT Blue Line.
Check the southbound destination before boarding: the other direction runs towards Rangsit. For a long-distance connection, allow time to move between the commuter and intercity areas, find your platform and meet the departure instructions on your ticket.
Use the station's current fare information and the operator's departure selector. A published line operating window is not the last train from every intermediate station. With a very late arrival or an early flight, check the actual station departure before choosing rail.

A1–A4 airport buses
AOT's dedicated BMTA page places the service counter and an airport pickup at Terminal 1, Level 1, Gate 6. Follow the airport-bus signs from your arrival area and confirm the route with staff before boarding.
Choose the route for its destination. Mo Chit is useful for onward city rail, while Mo Chit 2 is the intercity bus terminal: they are different places. Tell the conductor which one you need. For A4, confirm the stop nearest your Old City address instead of assuming it stops outside your hotel.
Leave time for waiting and road traffic. Check the return pickup location for the airport before your departure day; a bus's city-bound stop does not automatically identify its airport-bound stop.

Metered taxis and luggage
The regular public taxi service operates 24 hours. At Terminal 1, use Level 1 Gate 8. At Terminal 2, use Level 1 next to Gate 15, under the parking building.
Join the official queue, keep the service slip and show the driver the destination address. The total combines the meter, 50 THB airport surcharge, any expressway tolls and applicable baggage charges. Agree the toll route and any extra baggage charge before departure. Do not treat a generic downtown fare estimate as a fixed price.

Transfer to Suvarnabhumi (BKK)
AOT's shuttle page lists Terminal 1, Level 1, Gate 3 and Terminal 2, Level 1, Gate 14. Confirm the active boarding point and next departure at the airport desk, especially for the last evening service.
The free service is for passengers connecting between flights. Bring proof of onward air travel and your passport or national ID. Allow for baggage collection, the wait for the bus, road delays and check-in at Suvarnabhumi.
If your flights are on separate tickets, get the connection allowance from the airline before booking. A free transfer does not protect a missed departure.
Questions before you go
Which bus goes towards Khao San Road?
A4 is the airport bus for Sanam Luang and the Old City corridor. Check the actual stop for your address with the bus staff. A1 serves the Mo Chit corridor, A2 Victory Monument and A3 Lumpini Park.
Where is the domestic-terminal taxi rank?
AOT places the Terminal 2 public taxi service on Level 1 next to Gate 15, under the seven-storey parking building. The Terminal 1 rank is at Level 1, Gate 8.
Does the Red Line go straight to every central Bangkok district?
No. It connects Don Mueang with Krung Thep Aphiwat, where you can continue by the MRT Blue Line or an intercity train. Include the interchange and final transfer when planning the journey.
